PBP & Gina K Collaboration - Celebrate The Joy of Christmas!

Wednesday, November 4, 2020

It is collab time again! This time it's with the fabulous team over at Gina K. Designs! YAY!!!

Welcome to the Let's Glow hop with Gina K Designs and Pear Blossom Press! We're sharing beautiful cards with a double-wow factor; they feature the beautiful stamps and dies you can only find from Gina K, and they all light up! (Don't worry, that part is easy with the help of Pear Blossom Press' EZ-Lights.) Be sure to hop along with us for lots of inspiration; our designers have come up with some gorgeous cards...

I knew I wanted to use my favorite
pine trees ever!!!  They are from the Christmas Greenery stamp set.  I decided on a slim line card.  My card base is white 3.5"x8.5" from Gina K. Designs Heavy White card stock.  From there I cut a piece of  Gina's Christmas Pine card stock to 3.25"x8.25" and glued it to my base.  I then cut a piece of Gina's Layering Weight White card stock to 3"x8".  I cut another piece of Gina's card stock; but this time it is Black Onyx card stock to 2.75"x7.75".  From there I used Gina K. Designs Embossing and Watermark Ink on my sentiment and Gold Heat Embossed it to the left center of my card.  I then used the same Embossing and Watermark Ink on the pine tree image and stamped it on the right side of my panel.  Originally I was going to heat emboss that as well but there sat my pearl green Perfect Pearls staring at me (the color is actually Zinnia), I though "oooooh that would be pretty!" So I applied that to my pine tree image... didn't it turn out great??? I then heat embossed my stars on top of the tree in the same gold as the sentiment.  They are from the same stamp set from Gina K Designs... Christmas Greenery. I poked holes in the center of the stars for my lights to shine through. While I had all my supplies out I decided to add the same Pine Trees to the bottom of my slim line envelop I made.  I added the Perfect Pearls to make them shimmer.

Now for the exciting part... lighting up my stars with Pear Blossom Press EZ Lights!! Wait until you see how easy they are! You will impress everyone with your card making skills, if you haven't already :-)

First things first... make sure your lights work before you start attaching everything.  You would hate to have to tear your whole card apart. Once you know they are good to go; let's start attaching them. I tape my three lights down where I want them to shine through. From there I figure out where I want my battery pack with the battery inserted to go.  I always have the flat part glued to my top panel so it never moves.  I turn the card top over and press the spot to make sure everything is in the correct place and lighting up. Once I have that in place I tape all my wires and that is it. Now to attach it to the card base. I use the double thick tape from Pear Blossom Press; it is perfect height to clear the battery pack ... AND ... the release paper is AMAZING, you practically look at it and it falls off, LOL, just kidding but it is so easy to remove.  My favorite foam tape hands down!!

Here it is completed... so pretty and so easy!

TRHD - Back Alley Caffeinated Kangaroo

Tuesday, November 3, 2020
Hello everyone!

I am back again to share another card I made using one of The Rabbit Hole Designs stamp sets.

For today's card I used the

Isn't this Kangaroo just the best?  He is definitely one of my favorites. Keep reading to see how I colored him and what products I used for my card.

How to create this card:
  • 4.25 x 5.5" white card base
  • Stenciled the Weird Science Stencil onto the card base with Crackling Campfire Distress Ink
  • I stamped and colored my Giraffe with Copic markers.
  • Copic used: B000, B01, B12, B14, B16, E31, E33, E35, E37, E39, E44, R24, R27, R29, W0, W1, W3, W5, Y35
  • I fussy cut him out with my scissors.
  • I stamped my sentiment from the Caffeinated Giraffe Stamp Set
  • Added the W Copics to the ground for depth and to the ground for a shadow and a place for the giraffe to stand.
  • Added the Giraffe to my card front with foam tape.
  • Added some coordination enamel dots to card from for dimension
  • Voila ... THAT'S IT!
Here is one more picture of the full card ...
