TRHD - Steeped in Happiness

Monday, September 30, 2019

Are you ready for day 1 of  The Rabbit Hole Designs October release?
I know I am!! This month is a great one!

They have released 7 new stamp sets and 6 dies with this release.
We will be sharing the seven new sets over these next 3 days.

Today's stamp set is called Steeped In Happiness
I do have a card to share with you today using the Steeped In Happiness stamp set.

Here is a look at the images in the set:

Here is a look at my card ...

I saw this and I though of a one layer card right away.  Some times a card does not work out as you had planned ... I stamped my tea cup image in the lower right corner.  I Copic colored my main image. And when I went to glue my embellishments on, this happened ...

Yes that is a rubbed off blob! My glue exploded on my one layer card and it was no longer usable.

I stamped "brewtiful" in the upper left corner. And for the "thanks" I masked off the rest of the sentiment so i only inked the "thanks".  It is nice when you can use your stamps multiple ways.

As you can see I was able to salvage my colored image.  I fussy cut it out from my one layer disaster and placed it here with foam tape. I finished off my card with a few clear gems.  I love adding some sparkle to many of my cards. I am pleased with how it turned out. Happy accident that is for sure!

Here is one more look at my finished card.  Are you a coffee drinker or a tea drinker?  I personally like both.  I drink coffee in the morning and tea in the afternoon/evening.

Now on to the good stuff ...

Kindred Stamps - Stranger Friends

Thursday, September 26, 2019
EEEK!! I am so happy to say I am on the design team for Kindred Stamps!!!! This is my first release with them and I could not be happier!!

Today I am sharing cards from the new set Stranger Friends.

As soon as I saw this set I knew I want to make a light up card . I colored my image with Copics and popped her up with foam tape in front of the strands of lights.

Here she is all lit up ... Isn't it adorable?  I like that I only have a few of the bulbs lit up and not all of the strands.

For my second card I wanted to do some white heat embossing on my black card stock.  I paired it with a brown glitter circle to make my little sheriff guy stand out. From there I embossed my white circle for some dimension. I popped him up with some foam tape.

For my final card I want to make his hair be the highlight of the card ... hence the yellow light beam radiating from his hair.  I figured the sentiment "nice hair" said it all ... nothing further needed to be said LOL.  I colored my image with Copics and raised him with foam tape as well.  I finished the card off with black enamel dot.

Here are all three of the cards together.  I just love the new set Stranger Friends.  I have quite a few people in mind for these cards.

The entire Kindred Stamps September release will be available Friday, September 27th at 8am PST/11am EST. Ai - Walking in The Rain

Wednesday, September 25, 2019
Hello fans!

I am stopping by today to share a card I made using the Window To The World stamp set called ... Walking in the Rain.

"A walk in the rain is fun when you share your umbrella with a friend." Isn't that quote just perfect?  These Windows To The World stamps have always been some of my favorites. I think they pack a big punch with the stamp and sentiment all in one.

I started by stenciling my background.  I liked how it looks kind of like rain drops. I went heavier with ink on one side and lightened up as I moved across the page. I adhered it to my back card base.

I stamped my Walking in the Rain stamp and colored it with my Copic markers.  I framed my image with a piece black card stock.  I added it to my stenciled card base with foam tape.

I finished off my card with some glossy enamel dots and some Wink of Stella to my card to give it some shimmer on the rain drops.

I made two versions of this card.  I could not tell if I liked the image to the left side of the card or off to the right side ... you? I also went a little heavier with my stencil on one vs. the other too.

Thank you for stopping by.  Make sure you check out the Art Impression blog for more inspiration.

Ai - Circles Challenge with Wheelies

Thursday, September 19, 2019
Hello Ai fans!!

It is challenge time again!  This challenge is ... Using CirclesArt Impressions recently released two new Wheelies for fall. There is the one I am sharing; Halloween Cat Wheelies and also the Snowman Wheelie.

As you can see I started with a square white card base.  I added a layer of black card stock. I cut two circles with the Circle Double Stitched Dies; the bigger one in Halloween paper and the smaller one in white. I stamped my Halloween Cat and Copic colored him.  I added all of the separate bits and finished it off with my sentiment from the Halloween Cat Wheelie stamp set.

As you can see above the leg is attached by a brad which in turn is attached to the wheel. The wheel is attached to the back Turning mechanism by a 1/4" piece of foam tape.

Here you can see the back side of the "Turn Here" mechanism.  It is the foam tape that gives it the space to turn along with the handle to turn the wheel.

I finished off my card with some Orange Crystal Nuvo Drops.

Here is one more look at the finished challenge card.
I love challenging myself with different elements. This Wheelie is one of them.  I love how interactive they are.  My nephew will love getting this for Halloween this year in the mail.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Don't be afraid to try to try something new like one of these Wheelie cards.  They are not hard at all once you get going. Make sure you play along with the current Art Impressions challenge ... you could win something awesome!

Ai - Friendship Blooms

Wednesday, September 18, 2019
Hello Ai fans!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the Art Impressions HM Garden set.  I paired it with the WC Sentiment set.
As you can see I started with a dies cut I had in my stash.  Once I cut it and placed it on my navy card stock, that is where I got the idea for the HM Garden set randomly placed around the circles.

As you can see the items in the HM Garden set fit perfectly in the circles, or should I say on the circles?

The sentiment "Friendship Blooms From The Heart" from the WC Sentiment set fit perfectly with the theme and the middle of the card.
I finished thecard off with a little Wink Of Stella to the metal on the watering can and the shovel, just to make the metal shimmer a little.  I can't decide if I like the orange one or navy one better.  Which one do you like better?

Thank you so much for stopping by ... have a great week and we will see you soon!

Ai - My Best Friends Are A Little Nutty

Wednesday, September 11, 2019
Hello Ai fans and and fans of Nic & Viv ...

It is September ... do you know what that means??  STAMPTEMBER over at Simon Says Stamp! And guess who has an exclusive stamp set called Nutty and Nice ... Art Impressions does.
As you can see I am using the new stamp set called Nutty and Nice  that is exclusively for Simon Says Stamp.  I decided I wanted an interactive card so I chose to have the Fruitcake swing in a frame with my sentiment.  The friends are eating Fruitcake below .
As you can see I Copic colored my friends and pattern paper pieced the pajama bottoms.  I added a frame around my two sentiments and have the Fruitcake swinging from a pendulum. I love how it turned out.  I have the perfect friend I am sending it to.

Above is a small video of the Fruitcake swinging.  Enjoy!  Please run out and get this adorable set from Art Impression exclusively for Simon Says Stamp.  Once it is gone ... it's GONE FOREVER!

Thank you so much for spending a little time with me today.
