PBP & Pink n Main Collaboration - Hey Sugar!

Saturday, September 12, 2020
Oh happy day everyone!!

It is collaboration day again ...

Today's collaboration  is Pear Blossom Press and  Pink & Main! I am so excited for today's card.  I have been playing with alcohol ink again.  Take a peak ...

Isn't that fun??? I knew as soon as I saw the Day of The Dead stamp set from Pink & Main that this was the route I was taking.  I love it when something turns out better than what you anticipated in your head.

Here it is all lit up!  So cool, huh? Keep reading for directions on how to make this fun card.  I promise you it is not difficult at all.  Plus ... these EZ Lights make it a breeze to assemble.

Ok ... let's get to the good stuff!  I started my die cutting my Nara Black Alcohol Ink Paper.  I wanted to die cut it first so that I didn't mar up my alcohol ink after it was applied by running it through my Gemini. I die cit it using the new slim line die called Beautiful Slim Line Die from Pink & Main.  I used the larger frame for the white piece and the smaller frame on my Nara Black paper.  From there I used my alcohol inks and wanted the wispy look to my rainbow colors.

While I made sure that it was completely dry ... I heat embossed my "Hey Sugar" sentiment from the Day of The Dead stamp set.  I hand drew the "push here" sentiment as I wanted to keep the flow of the sentiment going on the bottom of the card as well.  I layered both sentiments on white paper to make them stand out.

From here I started attaching my EZ Lights from Pear Blossom Press. I started by gluing down my battery pack so I had the buttons in the correct spot for the "push here" sentiment.  No you are not seeing double.  I used two set of EZ Lights on this card.  I wanted to make sure I lit up all the Day of The Dead sugar skulls. I made sure the buttons were butted up together so when you pushed it they all lit up.  It is always important to make sure your lights are working before you go any further with the assembly.

Once you know everything is working; now you can cut your holes for the light and wires to come through.  I pushed again just to triple check that everything is A-ok!

I taped everything down once I knew it was perfectly placed where I wanted everything to go.  It looks more complicated than it really is.  I just like to make sure everything is taped down securely so once I start adding my foam tape it doesn't pull on anything.

Now that I taped the wires exactly where I wanted them and now I know everything is good and it is time to apply my Sugar Skulls from the Day of The Dead stamp set.

I Copic colored my skulls and cut them out with my Scan N Cut.  I added small pieces of foam tape to the back making sure that most of the light still shown through. I applied the skulls and that is it! Now to attach it to my card base

I cannot say enough about this Double Thick Foam Tape! It is a godsend ... the release paper comes off so easily. I may just start using it all the time for everything LOL. It is really "THAT" good; especially for interactive cards or even shaker cards! I'm tellin' ya ...

Anyways ... you want the double thick foam tape so that your button can work properly and it protects all of the "guts" of the EZ Lights card. Attach it to your card base and that is it ... You are done!!

I almost forgot ... I added Gold Glossy Enamel Dots to the card front for some added texture to the card. You can find them at Pink & Main as well.

Once again here is a look at the finished card all lit up.
I hope you enjoyed my take on the EZ Lights and the Day of the Dead; Pink and Main Stamp Set.

Thank You For Your Friendship

Friday, September 11, 2020
Oh happy day everyone!!

I am stopping by quick to share a card I made using and older Simon Says Stamp and Altenew Stamptember set from Stamptember 2018 called Dainty Spring. I love this set just as much as the day I got it.

This is a perfect one layer card.  I stamped the outline and the sentiment at the same time using the same black ink.  I stamped the light blue next, followed by the dark blue.  The yellow centers are also a stamp.  I used a green Copic marker to color the leaves.  I finished it off with three small enamel dot.

VOLIA ... that is it!  Seriously; SUPER easy and quick.

Here is one more look at the finished card.  I really love how it turned out.  I will definitely be making more, maybe a rainbow of colors and different sentiments on each card ... who knows! All I know is ... it makes me happy when I look at it!

Thank you for spending some of your crafty time with me!!

Until next time ... hugs & inky fingers!

ACLD - Layered Fluffy Flowers

Saturday, September 5, 2020
Oh happy day everyone!!

I am sharing a HELLO card I made using a layering stencil and a die.  Very minimal products used!

OK let's get started ... I started with a Midnight colored A2 card base. I cut down a Mushroom colored card front to 4" x 5.25".  Here is where the magic will happen. First I used the Fluffy Flower Base I stenciled it with Ranger Glacier Pigment Ink. Make sure you let it dry well or it will smear all over.  I think I let mine dry for an hour, but it doesn't take quite that long. From there I layered the Fluffy Flower Middle next on top of the white. I used Concord & 9th Honeysuckle Ink.  And Finally I used the last layer; Fluffy Flower Top in Concord & 9th Midnight Ink. The reason these are so vibrant is because you need the base layer of white first, otherwise your colors will get lost in the dark card stock. I glued the stenciled piece to my card base. From there I die cut my hello 5 times from the Concord & 9th Midnight card stock. I used double sided adhesive on the back of my hello's before I die cut them so I could easily layer them on top of each other and not have a mess trying to glue them together. Since this die does not have a shadow die with it; I decide to run it through my Scan N Cut and cut a shadow that way ... didn't it turn out great?? I layered everything together and added it to my card front ... and voila ... card complete!

BUT ... here is a little secret that has been a game changer for me. On one of my die cut hello's I put the double sided adhesive on both sides, meaning ... I put the double sided adhesive on both sides before I cut it. I do this so that this is my bottom layer and can stick to the die cut and the card front.  No messy glue to be seen through the vellum.

So the hello has two bottom layers, the vellum, and the remaining three layers on top of the vellum.  It really adds dimension to the card.

Here is one more look at the full card.  I just love how the white makes the flowers really pop off the page. This card makes me smile every time I look at it! Might just have to keep this one!

Thank you for spending some of your crafty time with me!!

Until next time ... hugs & inky fingers!
